Are you looking to invest invest in a Closed Circuit TV or Video Surveillance system for your Business or Property?
Well we can certinally assist you in making a decision on the right solution but theres a few important points we need to clarify first that will help us design the right system for you. Closed Circuit TV can come at a low cost at one end of the scal to an extremely high cost exersice at the other end of the scale. The phrase 'You get what you pay for' is often very true in the CCTV industry however we will gaurentee we will demonstrate, design and create you the most cost effective, custom built CCTV system that technology has to offer, ensure all your minimum requirements are met and still be around months later if your dependance on retrieving footage from the system requires our attendance on site to assist.
Below are some of the main points we will need to know:
- What is the viewing area for the cameras. For example, do you want to use in hallways or outside in a parking lot? The distance away and how wide a viewing area will help me suggest a camera and a lens.
- How many cameras do you think you will need?
- How much detail do you want to see? Do you want to be able to zoom in on a persons face and be able to identify the person, or just want to see that someone was there. This helps determine the resolution of the camera or the zoom (if any) you will need.
- Do you require pan, tilt and zoom? Sometimes we can substitute a high resolution camera (with digital PTZ) for a mechanical PTZ camera. If the pan angle is less than 120 degrees and the zoom is less than 8X we can use a less expensive camera.
- Do you want to automatically patrol through a fixed set of positions with a PTZ camera? Would you like to automatically stop and record if motion is detected?
-
- Do you want to store the video? For how long a period?
- Motion detection helps reduce the storage requirements. Can you estimate what percentage of the time you expect to see motion?
- What frame rate do you think you will require? The frame rate also determines how much storage you will require. For example you can select a frame rate from less than 1 fps to 30 fps. In surveillance applications you usually don't need the fast frame rate. You can use 1 or 2 fps and save lots of storage space.
- What is the lighting conditions in the area you plan to view? This will determine how sensitive the camera needs to be.
- Will the cameras be used outside? What are the weather conditions in your area - how cold and hot does it get?
- How do you want to mount the cameras - On a wall, ceiling, pole etc?
- Where do you want to view the cameras? Do you want to have a central location for viewing and/or do you want to be able to view the cameras using a standard web browser? This will determine what software is best for your application.
